    小熊隊戲劇性地打敗印第安人隊一役，即使面對同時段NBC直播NFL美式足球大賽和AMC熱播劇「陰屍路」，也獲得15.3的收視率而奪冠，較去年增加30％，大勝NBC的「周日看美式足球」，是2009年以來最高收視率的世界大賽。

    據報導，這1、2年MLB的30支球隊每家價值都上漲至少20％，受惠於企業股市上揚，及門票、包廂、餐飲、商品門票等球場收入、授權許可、體育場租用、圍繞體育場的房地產開發等提升盈利；各球隊共同同等擁有的職棒大聯盟高級媒體公司（Major League Baseball Advanced Media），是MLB專職互聯網和互動業務的分支，2014年收入估8億美元，營業收入約4億美元，目前價值可能超過100億美元，讓聯盟大大獲益。

    另一收入是廣告和贊助費增加，與MLB重新調整方向有關。據富比世報導，美國職棒去年贊助與廣告費共2.25至2.5億美元，今年估計達3.6億至4億美元，今年MLB總收入很可能超過100億美元。
